Combining meaningful play and a positive environment creates a great learning environment for children. Meaningful play is when children are actively participating. Here at Teddy Bear Child Care, we give children choices. When children get to choose, it makes them feel as if they are in control. That makes learning fun. We focus on all the developmental areas: cognitive development, language, social and emotional, fine motor, gross motor, music, movement, and finger play. We use this style of play inside the classroom and outside. Having a positive environment teaches children to engage in a positive manner even when they may disagree. This style of learning gives all our children the foundation and tools that they need to succeed and achieve any goals that they may have set for themselves.
Communication is a skill that is needed for everyday life. We strive to have positive communication not only between our students and teachers but also between our teachers and parents. Communication between teachers and parents is important because the parents are the expert on their children. Parents are our children’s first teacher and role model. They know how their children learn. You as the parent know when there is something wrong with your children. When your children are excelling or need a little help. You as the parent know how to help your children. Teacher communication with a child’s parent can keep that child on track to excel or get them on the right track. Here at Teddy Bear Child Care, we use several different ways to communicate with our parents. It not only includes face-to-face but also phone calls, daily notes, newsletters, emails, and texting.
